This paper aims at comparing the two following quotes of the African American history as far as the given information is concerned towards the same.The quotes:In 1874 published in the Chicago Tribune, is it not time for the colored race to stop playing baby? The Whites of America have done nobly in outgrowing old prejudices against them. They cannot hurry this process by law. Let them obtain social equality as every other man, woman and child in the world obtain it-by showing themselves in their lives the social equals of those with whom they wish to consort In the second quote of DuBois (1903), the confluence of the amendments acts passed by the Congress in 1885, declaring equ ality in America did not go well with the white Americans. The two messages are intertwined in the struggle for dominance and identification between the two races in America. However, the first quote published in the Chicago Tribune in 1874 was about the White American people who wanted to win back the social level as before without necessarily using the justification of the law. The second quote by DuBois is about the African Americans who were made to look upon the white community for life, identity, survival, and development, then looking for the way of independency. Freedom from slavery was great for the African Americans but not the same to the white community.
